Cash Back Bonus - Pay with a PayPal Debit Card
One little tip that I have not seen on the TV show, Extreme Couponing, is the use of paying with debit card that pays you a cash-back bonus. I use my PayPal debit card for the necessary, anticipated expenses, like groceries, cell phone bills, gasoline purchases, etc. It helps immensely in budgeting. Keep in mind this use is accessing money that I have transferred to my PayPal account, not using PayPal to access a backup payment method, like a credit or debit card.
Using a PayPal debit card, the transactions that are eligible for cash back are purchases that you sign for, purchases from online merchants, and catalog or telephone purchases. PIN-required purchases and cash withdrawals are not eligible for cash back.
When using this method at a gas pump, you choose credit card and sometimes need to enter your billing zipcode.
The current PayPal cash back rate is 1%, which is better than most savings accounts. Combining the use of a PayPal debit card payment for gasoline, with a supermarket gas rewards program can net nearly a 20% savings in gasoline fillups.
