Willow Cottage

Willow Cottage

Willow Cottage (circa 1948)

Caption on reverse:

Willow Cottage - Kaiser-Frazer's new driveaway home at Willow Run where new adventure in motoring thrills commence.

Tags: Kaiser-Frazer, Michigan

Willow Run was built by the US government just before World War II for the building of B-24 Liberator bombers, by Henry Ford. At that time, it was the largest building in the world. Kaiser-Frazer later started operations in this building after Ford no longer had an interest in it.

Larry Barker, owner of the Kaiser Store (http://www.thekaiserstore.com - now closed), Peoria, Arizona, introduced me to the Kaiser-Frazer automobile line, when he and I were among many passengers stranded in Charlotte International Airport in the Summer of 2009.

Caption on reverse:

This sturdy five-passenger Buick Model "F" sold for $1,250.00 in 1908. The name of Buick is one of the few that survived in a field of more than 2,500 makes during the period the automotive industry went through its "growing pains." This 20 horsepower Buick was produced in the fifth year of the company's operation.

About this Webpage

I have created this webpage as a scrapbook of sorts to showcase some of the more interesting postcards from my postcard collection. Much of my collection is inherited from my grandmother, Mildred E. Berwick Casartello. I have categorized the postcards in various groups, so you will find them on multiple pages. The tags line at the bottom of each postcard entry has links to each category that you will find that entry on.
